People these days are forever on the quest for the newest metabolism-boosting pill. Some of my friends even get prescriptions for such things. Well, save your money (and your health, you never know about awful side effects) with these accessible, affordable options.
People spend big bucks on ECGC, an extract derived from green tea that is purported to support weight loss and speed up the metabolism.
I simply drink a few cups a day, and it keeps me slim. I personally recommend drinking hot tea, as it’s better for your stomach than iced, but if you can handle cold, go for it.
This i.s often a main component of many get-slim-quick pills, but if you drink it by itself, you don’t have to deal with any nasty fillers or additives, or additional chemicals
This is a great spice that is wonderful for the circulation. It also enhances the effects of other herbs. It works for weight loss by way of creating thermogenesis, which is the generation of heat by the body.
As your body becomes more efficient at producing it’s own heat, the more weight you can lose. Cold hands and feet are a surefire sign that you may need some assistance with circulation and body temperature issues.
You can purchase kelp fairly cheaply. If you’re against taking supplements for any reason, just incorporate seaweed into your diet, as the Japanese do. Ever wondered why they’re so slim?
Kelp and seaweed contain iodine, which is crucial for the thyroid, which is pretty much the body’s own built-in furnace. It regulates body temperatures as well as your metabolism.
So taking kelp or eating seaweed will give you a good supply of iodine, and keep your thyroid stimulated. If you’re thyroid is working at less than optimum level, then your metabolism can suffer, causing you to gain weight.
This is great for your thyroid, and it also causes thermogenesis, increasing how fast your body burns calories (which serve as fuel) in the form of energy.
You’ve probably heard numerous claims about this one. Well, believe me, it works. Using coconut oil in my baking keeps me from gaining weight, and even makes me slim. I like rubbing coconut oil on my legs and stomach, it works in that way too.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Last, but not least, apple cider vinegar makes it as one of the most successful weight loss aids. Whenever I put on a few pounds from holiday eatings, or due to a series of unending nut binges (I sometimes go crazy about nuts, and boy do they make me gain weight for some reason-probably due to my genotype?),
I start drinking a small amount of apple cider vinegar mixed in with a glass of water before my meals, and not only is my digestion better, but I end up shedding those pounds effortlessly. It’s pretty awesome, and also comes with a slew of other benefits (see my other article on apple cider vinegar and it’s health-promoting properties).
